Automobile Reliability Evaluation Based on Dynamic Performance Degradation Data

Abstract Traditional automobile system reliability evaluation method always based on data of time-to-failure or failure rate. However as high reliability and long life product such as automobile, it was difficult to obtain those data by doing life test or accelerated life test directly. Utilizing degradation test based on dynamic performance, which is proposed for automobile, could provide important reliability evaluating information by receiving performance degradation data. Article presented degradation locus method for automobile reliability evaluation based on performance degradation data, selected suitable degradation locus model for obtaining pseud failure lifetime to evaluate system reliability, and applied this method into practical engineering of automobile for verifying the feasibility of method.
