Abstract Recently, various control systems in automobiles have been computerized. Therefore, more than dozens of ECUs are mounted on a vehicle. However, it has been indicated that if ECU programs are falsified, a fatal accident may occur. To secure the safety of vehicles in the future, this study proposes a secure CAN communication method. Experiments show the proposed method is deemed effective.
