Abstract In the past decades, global air traffic grows rapidly. Turbofan engines are widely used in civil aviation for aircraft propulsion. The High Pressure Turbine (HPT) extracts energy from the gas released from the combustion chamber with high pressure and temperature. HPT blades have significant effect on the power, efficiency and service life of the engine. 3D models of HPT blades were built and studied by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to find the temperature distributions on the blades by varying the geometry to get the information of temperature distributions for optimization of cooling methods to increase the reliability of the turbine blades.
