Abstract This paper presents the development of an experimental plant to study fundamental parameters for quality improvement and safety assurance of several piping components working in two-phase flow conditions. The test rig has been equipped for testing three different kind of components: multiphase flow separation devices, orifice and valves, jet pumps. The rig has been used to assess performances and operating conditions of piping components, to determine experimental relationship between critical parameters and to validate mathematical models.
