Optimal Reservation Frame Allocation by Queueing Simulation for a Complete Reservation System | ||||

Abstract | There are many systems with a queue based on the socalled complete reservation system in familiar situations. In this paper, we propose a mathematical model to find a reservation frame allocation that minimizes fairly the waiting times for customers and doctor’s idle time in a queue based on the complete reservation system. The reservation frame allocation is determined by (i) the length of each frame and (ii) the number of available reservations in each frame. If the number of available reservations for each frame is determined based on the allocation obtained from this model, then the waiting time for each customer and doctor’s idle time are shown to be minimized fairly . Using this model, we discuss how to set the reservation frame allocation in order to reduce waiting times for customers and doctor’s idle time effectively.
