Abstract To develop software achieving high reliability, it is necessary to eliminate software faults in the testing phase of a software development process. However, because of the testing cost, it is important to know how to carry out a test exactly under the budget constraint. In this paper, by applying a bivariate SRGM (software reliability growth model), in which the software reliability growth process consists of testing time and test- ing effort factors, we discuss estimation of detectable number of faults under constant budget constraint.
