Abstract The paper in focused on the meaning of "energy efficiency". With this topic we indicate the ability of a production site to better exploit the energy resources used in production processes, through the elimination of everything that is not strictly necessary to the creation of goods or services, in order to simultaneously reduce every specific energy consumption and the environmental impact, in compliance with the ethical standards and applicable regulations of local government. You will see how the achievement of these objectives, it will pass through the implementation of tools and strategies typical of Lean Production. In particular, we will analyze how the application of each Tool of Lean, impacts positively on production processes and therefore, what is the possibility of Energy Saving that may ensures. In Lean Healtcare, "energy efficiency" means to make better use of the energy resources available, and try to achieve the main objective represented by the care of as many patients as possible, with the use of the smallest amount of energy possible. We will show the models and methods of calculation of the energy used in production processes, before and after the achievement of lean strategies.
