Abstract | The nonzero solution of a class of nonsmooth generalized equations is considered. This class of problems arises from applications of sparse and group sparse regularization techniques for variable selection, and from optimization conditions for solving nonsmooth convex problems. One popular and efficient approach for solving such problems is the Douglas-Rachford splitting method. In this paper, we derive and study the method for such problems from theoretical and experimental perspectives. The results show that the method is competitive.
