Abstract Project management for developing software requires rigorous process reviews. Process reviews at upstream process improve the quality of software products continuously; in other words, a quality-oriented software management that is managed thoroughly enables us to produce high quality software. This paper clarifies the process factors which affect the quality of software product with multivariate analysis for the actual software development process. In addition, the statistical quality prediction for improving the software development process is discussed.
