Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the intellectual structure of website and website quality research in the last decade. This study identified the most important publications and the most influential scholars as well as the relationship between website and website quality. Historical method combine with keyword analysis, tag cloud analysis and citation analysis are used to trace the development path of the website and website quality research. By analyzing literature from 5,124 articles of website published in SSCI journals from year 2003 to year 2012 which further cited 161,562 publications as references, this study maps the intellectual structure. This could function as a concise reading list for Ph.D. students and assist them by providing material that acts as a roadmap and assists in research work. Further, it could guide students in deciding their future research streams.
